Executive Vice-chairperson Yoo Ho-yeol: “It is time for NUAC to pioneer the consolidation of public opinion on North Korean nuclear arms and unification”
The 138th NUAC Executive Committee Assembly (Chief: Executive Vice-chairperson Yoo Ho-yeol) was held on October 4, 10:30 am at the conference room of the Secretariat of NUAC, with 41 persons including vice-chairpersons of 17 cities/provinces, vice-chairpersons of 5 North Korean provinces, female vice-chairperson, vice-chairperson of China Assemblies, vice-chairperson of America Assemblies, Chief of the Standing Committee, and functional member of the Executive Committee in attendance.

On this day, the Executive Committee discussed matters regarding the operation of NUAC such as the 7 operational regulatory code amendment proposals including the 「National Unification Advisory Council Operational Regulatory Code General Regulatory Amendment Proposal」, meeting to gather opinions on unification from China, and overseas provincial assemblies.

Opening address by Executive Vice-chairperson Yoo Ho-yeol
Citing President Park's message that the division of national opinion is more dangerous than North Korean nuclear arms, Executive Vice-chairperson Yoo Ho-yeol stressed that the important role of NUAC is to unify national opinion in order to denounce North Korean nuclear arms and to promote unification.

Greetings by Secretary General Kwon Tae-oh
"We will collectively reorganize routine tasks to realize higher-level performance," Secretary General Kwon Tae-oh vowed, saying that he is doing his best to prepare for Executive Committee tasks like the parliamentary inspection by the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, presenting medals of merit and orders of merit, and overseas provincial assemblies.
At the assembly, seven proposals of regulatory code were proposed, reviewed, and voted on, and all of them were passed as originally proposed. The seven proposals of regulatory code were as follows: NUAC Operational Regulatory Code General Amendment Proposal; NUAC Domestic Assembly Regulatory Code Partial Amendment Proposal; NUAC Domestic Chapter Operational Regulatory Code Partial Amendment Proposal; NUAC Overseas Assembly Operational Regulatory Code Partial Amendment Proposal; NUAC Overseas Chapter Operational Regulatory Code Partial Amendment Proposal; Partial Amendment Proposal of Regulatory Code for the Treatment of NUAC Council Members; and Partial Amendment Proposal of Regulatory Code for the Issue of Identification for NUAC Council Members.
On the other hand, certain participating council members pointed out that wordings in some of the regulatory codes needed to be organized and improved, and that the role and mission of standing committees needed clarification. During discussions regarding the operation of NUAC, various opinions were exchanged regarding future meetings to gather opinions on unification in China, 3rd Overseas Provincial Assembly, 4th Quarter Standing Committee, and 2016 Combined Executive Committee-Central Committee Assembly.
