  • The Act of the Advisory Council on Peaceful Unification Policy (Act No. 3383) was promulgated.

  • The Secretariat of the Advisory Council on Peaceful Unification Policy was established.
  • June 5
  • The 1st Advisory Council on Peaceful Unification Policy was launched.

  • The Institution was renamed as the National Unification Advisory Council (NUAC)(Article 92 of the Constitution).
1988
  • February 17
  • The National Unification Advisory Council Act (Act No. 4000, partially amended) was promulgated.
2013
  • February 25
  • President Park Geun-hye was inaugurated.
  • May 3
  • Executive Vice-chairperson Hyun Kyung-dae took office.
  • June 3
  • Secretary General Park Chan-bong took office.

  • The 16th NUAC was launched.
