Andong Municipal Chapter (Head: Kwon Sun-hyup) of Gyeongbuk held an event dubbed "New Year’s Eve with North Korean Refugees" last Dec. 19 at the conference room of Andong National Agricultural Cooperative Federation to comfort and encourage North Korean refugees living in the city. 
A total of 40 North Korean refugees living in the Andong area were invited to the meeting, and the participants discussed how to support the refugees as well as the difficulties in their settlement in South Korea. One of the refugees, Jin Hee-sun, introduced her story of successful settlement in South Korea. Kwon Sun-hyup, head of the municipal chapter, presented daily necessities to the refugees and promised to carry out various support activities to help them settle down successfully in our society.
