Toronto Municipal Chapter (Head: Choi Jin-hak) held a workshop for council members last Oct. 4 and 5 at Seven Bridge in north Toronto under the subject, “Understanding the Korean Peninsula Unification Policy and Role of the Overseas Council Members”. Special lectures were given by Jeong Kwang-kyun, Consul General to Toronto, Kim Byung-kwan, director of KOTRA’s Toronto office, Kang Cheol-hwan, a Chosun Daily correspondent, and a North Korean refugee.  Choi Jin-hak, head of the Toronto Municipal Chapter, explained the unification business promotion plan and asked for more positive cooperation of the council members. 

Meanwhile, the municipal chapter organized the “9th Marathon of Peace of Korean Peninsula” last Sept. 28 at Sunny Brook Park, where 800 runners participated and 100 volunteers helped them to run the marathon.
