  • Ottawa Branch holds informal meeting for debate on the country’s North Korean policy
  • NUAC members of the Ottawa Branch of the Eastern Canada Municipal Chapter (Head : Kim Gwan-su) held on March 15, 2013 an informal meeting for debate on a desirable North Korean policy of the new government at the Korean Embassy building, with representatives of local residents invited. The meeting was arranged by NUAC members Lee Sang-hun, Ko Yun-hee, Park Cheol-gyu, Seo Dong-i, Yu Jeong-il, and Lee Chun-hwa. Dignitaries who attended included Head Hwang Gi-seong of the Association of Korean Seniors in Ottawa, Head Lee Won-suk of the Ottawa Branch of the Association of Korean-Canadian Scientists and Engineers, Jo A-ra, Head of the Korean Students Association at Carleton University, Senior Adviser Han Yeong-a of the Korean Association in Ottawa, and Lim Hyeon-seon, Head of the Korean Students Association at Ottawa University.

    The session followed a briefing made by Minister Oh Song at the Korean Embassy in Canada on the Park Geon-hye administration’s North Korean policy. According to the attendees, the South needs to deal firmly with the North’s provocations and pressure the North by wielding diplomatic influence in collaboration with the international community.
