The NK Refugee Affairs & Welfare Standing Committee (chief: Han Gwang-seok) of the Seoul Provincial Assembly held a “scholarship ceremony for exemplary North Korean refugee students” on September 9 at the main conference room of the NUAC Secretariat together with the medical volunteer team (leader: Kim Cheol-su).

During the scholarship ceremony, a total of 15 students from middle schools, high schools, and universities received scholarships. The ceremony was attended by Executive Vice-chairperson Yoo Ho-yeol, Secretary General Kwon Tae-oh, heads of the municipal chapters of the Seoul Assembly, and relevant council members who encouraged the awardee students.

Executive Vice-chairperson Yoo Ho-yeol asked the students to continue to engage in academic life with diligence. “I feel as if the hope for unification is sprouting when I see North Korean refugee students overcoming difficult situations with indomitable spirit and showing exemplary school performance,” he said.
