The Hongcheon Municipal Chapter (head: Yang Tae-ho) of Gangwon-do held an opening ceremony for the “2nd Class of Hongcheon Unification College,” which provides systematic education and information on unification/North Korea policy and issues on South-North relations, at the conference room of the Hongcheon-eup Office on March 14.

At the opening ceremony, Kwak In-soo, senior researcher at the Institute for National Security Strategy, gave a special lecture on “Knowing North Korea to See Unification.” Kang Dae-deok, director of the Hwaseo Institute, lectured on the “Theory and Reality of North Korean Unification Education.”

In the succeeding lectures, experts on unification and security as well as North Korean defectors will take the podium according to each topic. The 2nd Class of Hongcheon Unification College, which started lectures on this day, holds 2-hour lectures every Tuesday from 2 pm for 4 weeks until April 4, for a total of 8 lectures.

Starting this year, a certificate of completion is issued only if 6 out of 8 lectures are attended based on strict attendance check; graduates gain priority rights to attend various NUAC events.
