The Cheonan Municipal Chapter (head: Yoo Byeong-soo) of Chungcheongnam-do hosted the “Step Toward Becoming One” event in support of the settlement of North Korean defectors at the Cheonan Convention Center on December 2, with the participation of around 200 people including Koo Bon-young, mayor of Cheonan, Jeon Jong-han, chairperson of the Cheonan City Council, council members, and North Korean defectors.

At this event, which was hosted in cooperation with Cheonan Seobuk Police Station and Dongnam Police Station, participants spent an enjoyable time with a pre-event performance by the “New Hope Volunteer Group” attached to the Chungnam Hana Center and a talent show of songs and dances by North Korean defectors. Held for the 9th time this year by the Cheonan Municipal Chapter, this day's event was prepared to console the North Korean defectors and strengthen harmony and unity among local residents.
