Jeonju Municipal Chapter (Head: Song Hyun-man) held an academic conference last Oct. 15 at Baekje Hall, Riviera Hotel under the subject, “Building a Peaceful System for the Korean Peninsula and National Unification”, jointly with the National Unification Education Center of the Jeollabuk-do Region.
The first session was organized to discuss the nuclear issue of North Korea, a peaceful system in North East Asia and political situations around the Korean Peninsula.  Kim Gang-nyung, Director of the Politics of Harmony Research Institute, and Prof. Park Seo-yong of Inha University presented their views under the respectable titles, “60th Anniversary of the Truce Agreement and Building a Peaceful System” and “Inter-Korean Policy of the Obama Administration and North Korean Nuclear Issue”, respectively.

of the Park Geun-hye Administration and its implementation, in which Prof. Song Jeong-ho of Woosuk University and Prof. Lee Ji-kyung of the Air Force Academy of Korea presented the respective topics, “Inter-Korean Policy and the Korean Peninsula Trust-Building Process of Park Geun-hye Government” and “Political Situation Change in North Korea and National Unification”, and attendants in the academic conference from universities, the news media, council members and local residents discussed the subject very actively.
