Gimcheon Municipal Chapter (Head: Baek Yeong-hak) held the Second Quiz Contest of 3 Generations for National Unification last Oct. 14 at River Side Park in Gimcheon to proliferate sympathy for national unification amongst citizens and enhance their understanding of North Korea.
One team of contestants consisted of three generations of a family that went through a preliminary contest that was held last Sep. 30 at each elementary school in the city. Forty teams advanced to the final round of the quiz contest in cooperation with the Gimcheon Office of Education.

The young students, their parents, and even their grandparents made a team to compete in the quiz, which had 50 questions consisting of an objective and subjective test by answering O or X in three different levels out of the basic learning text book on national unification.    

The contest lasted for one and half hours and the winner was Park Chae-bin (5th grader at Dongshin Elementary School), followed by Kim Jae-hun and Baek Seung-hyun (2nd graders at Bugok Elementary School). Dongshin and Bugok Elementary schools won a teacher’s award.
Before the contest was held the Samulnori team (Korean traditional percussion quartet) of Gimcheon Biological Science High School presented wonderful performances and Pyeongyang Folk Arts Group presented dance and music of North Korea for the audience to understand North Korean culture.
