  • Sangju-si (Gyeongbuk-do) Municipal Chapter renews commitment to unification and national security on Baengnyeongdo Island
  • The Sangju-si (Gyeongbuk-do) Municipal Chapter (Head : Kim Jong-jun) held a training session for NUAC council members for three days beginning March 31, the third anniversary of the sinking of naval ship Cheonan, to help renew their commitment to unification and national security on Baengnyeongdo Island.
    They held a session to cheer up the troops of the 6th Brigade of the Marine Corps, paid tribute to the 46 sailors who lost their lives in the Cheonan incident at the memorial tower set up for them, and held a debate session on the "North's Threats and Our National Security Stance." Mr. Kim Gi-cheol, a Unification Ministry official, explained the current status of the lives of North Koreans.
    According to the members, the three-day session helped them renew their unification/national security commitment through the first-hand experience of the tension at Baengnyeongdo Island close to the North.
