The Nam-gu Municipal Chapter (head: Choi Hae-sang) of Ulsan hosted the “2017 Female Leaders Unification Consensus Symposium” at the Nam-gu Office in Ulsan on March 7, with 30 people in attendance including members of the Unification Policy Standing Committee, female council members, and members of the Ulsan Women’s Forum.

Hosted to strengthen women’s capability in preparing for unification and to form a national consensus on unification/North Korea policy, this symposium featured expert lectures on the unification environment of Korea and the international situation, followed by a free discussion between participants.

At the symposium, Lee Byung-chul, professor at the University of Ulsan, gave a presentation on the “Korea Unification Policy Under a Neo-Cold War System,” followed by a discussion headed by Kim Do-hui, professor at the University of Ulsan, with all participants taking part. All participants believe that female leaders must form a network, and that proper recognition of unification is needed to secure support for unification. A consensus was reached, i.e., women should pioneer the way to strive to prepare for unification adequately.
