The Gunwi Municipal Chapter (head: Goo Bon-guk) of Gyeongsangbuk-do hosted the “2016 Unification Class for Elementary School Students” at the Gunwi Elementary School library on December 12 with the participation of around 200 people, including 4th-6th graders of Gunwi Elementary School, council members, and teachers.

North Korean defector and lecturer Yoo Hyun-ju, who gave a lecture on the topic of “Reality of North Korea and Our Happiness,” said that we should have an attitude of thanking our parents for allowing us to be born in South Korea, showing gratitude for the fact that we are citizens of South Korea, and preparing for unification rather than being grateful for today's prosperity and liberty only.

This day's unification class was a time for students to learn about the reality in North Korea and feel the necessity of peaceful unification through interesting and fun stories and unification quiz events suited to their levels, including writing poems on unification.
