Convening the 136th Executive Committee
The 136th Executive Committee of the National Unification Advisory Council (NUAC) was convened in the morning of April 18 at the conference room of the NUAC Secretariat office. The conference kicked off with an opening address by Executive Vice-chairperson Yoo Ho-yeol, followed by welcome remarks from Secretary General Bae Jung-ho, review on the partially revised operation regulations of NUAC, and so on.

Overview of the Conference
In his opening address, Executive Vice-chairperson Yoo Ho-yeol noted that, in a situation wherein our government and the international society, together, implement strong sanctions against North Korea's provocation with nuclear weapons and missiles, NUAC will strive to consolidate public opinion and form national sympathy.

In addition, Executive Vice-chairperson Yoo pledged to "try his best to bring about change in North Korea's policy until North Korea gives up its nuclear ownership policy through change and called on Executive Committee members to accomplish their given missions faithfully and make huge contributions to the journey of peaceful reunification.
In his welcome remarks, Secretary General Bae Jung-ho introduced core activities after his inauguration. "Based on the goal of overcoming provocations by North Korea through national unity, 20 thousand council members carried out domestic and foreign anticipative activities and received favorable feedback from related agencies as well as the public regarding the quick and rapid reaction of NUAC,” he said.

Welcome Remarks from Secretary General Bae Jung-ho
Secretary General Bae revealed that they are planning to conduct various activities to make the North Korea nuclear sanctions situation more favorable for reunification. They are also planning to hold the 17th domestic provincial assemblies from late June to mid-July targeting 17,000 domestic council members, with the overseas provincial assembly to be held in Seoul, United States (May 16 ‒ 19), China·Japan·Canada·Central and South America (Jun. 20 ‒ 23), and Europe (Oct. 10 ‒ 13).
"I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the vice-chairpersons of municipal chapters and committee members who helped facilitate all activities. I expect a big change to occur in the Korean Peninsula by turning crisis into opportunity," Secretary General Bae said.
Among the items discussed in the conference, “NUAC's Partial Revision of the Operation Regulation of Domestic Provincial Assembly (Idea),” ''NUAC's Partial Revision of the Operation Regulation of Domestic Municipal Chapter (Idea),” and “NUAC's Partial Revision of the Operation Regulation of Conference (Idea)” were passed under the condition that the responsibility for the modification of wordings rests with the Chief of the Executive Committee, and that the “resolution on the revocation of appointment of the 17th Council Member (Idea)” is passed in original form.
