The Geumsan Municipal Chapter (head: Tae Jin-soo) of Chungcheongnam-do hosted the “2016 Youth Unification Camp with Parents” at the Jinsan Recreational Forest for two days from December 2.

Held during the camp was a unification talk concert with defecting university students Oh Young-mi (Sogang University) and Yang Yoo-seong (Kookmin University), with assistant Jung Hyeon-do presiding. Youths participating in the camp were able to hear about the reality of North Korea and the process of defection through diverse questions.

Meanwhile, there were also a special lecture on preventing school violence by lecturer Park Hwa-seon and a special lecture on traditional martial arts and self-defense by instructor Kim Nam-joo. The participants were also given time to pay respects to the Yukbaek Monument of Victories on day 2.

On this day, participants said that not only was this a meaningful time to be with family members but also a precious time to empathize on the importance of unification, to which they were previously indifferent.
