Korean Residents in Japan Shocked by a Disappearing North Korea at Night
  • NUAC Executive Vice-Chairperson Hyun: ″Bonanza of Unification is the Solution to Light North Korea in Darkness″
A special lecture on the peaceful unification of the Korean peninsula was held on 30 March in Nagoya, Japan following the one in Tokyo on the 28th. Korean residents were shocked at the satellite photos released by NASA of the USA, which show a Disappearing North Korea at night. All the land in North Korea except Pyeongyang seems to sink at sea on the photos, with South Korea appearing to be an island completely isolated from the continent.
  • NUAC Executive Vice-Chairperson Hyun: ″Bonanza of Unification is the Solution to Light North Korea in Darkness″
"There's North Korea between China and South Koreas, but North Korea seems to disappear on the photos since there are no lights in North Korea. Light proves that people inhabit a place, but North Korea without light seems to suggest that it is uninhabited," said Jang Gye-gang (38, Aichi Prefecture, Japan). Jeong Byeong-chae (65, Osaka) recalled being told that people in North Korea are poor but could not imagine that they are that poor and could not tell whether there is country or land or if people live in the area or not, looking at the photos. "I can't help but feel angry that only the Pyeongyang area is lighted while the rest of the country is in darkness," Kim Naseomi (female, 32, of Osaka) stated.
Korean residents in Japan showed keen interest in the special lecture by NUAC Executive Vice-Chairperson Hyun Kyung-dae on President Park Geun-hye's "Bonanza of Unification" to light North Korea and "Silk Road Express" (SRX) connecting the Korean peninsula and Eurasia, including the satellite photos showing "North Korea, a land of darkness" presented by NUAC.
According to Hyun, instead of feeling anger at North Korea, which returns to the Old Stone Age at night and where our 25 million compatriots live in half of our fatherland, we feel pity. North Korea should accept President Park's Dresden Declaration in Germany and come out of the darkness to promote exchange and cooperation and peaceful unification, he stresses.
"President Park's 'Bonanza of Unification' goes beyond the idea of overcoming the division of the Korean peninsula and unification; it is a far-reaching plan for 'New Unification,' aiming at contributing not only to the Korean peninsula but also to Northeast Asia as well as the entire Asia. It is a global agenda bringing universal peace and prosperity and 'jackpot' of happiness to the world, he said.
In particular, Hyun emphasized that President Park's unification bonanza aims to make the Korean peninsula a relay base of the economic realms of the North and South regions of the world for the abundant human and material resources of the South to move to the North realm through the Korean peninsula, while diversifying natural resources in the North to the South via the peninsula. It is a far-reaching scheme to improve the quality of life of human beings on earth. In the middle of the unification bonanza is Silk Road Express (SRX) connecting Eurasia through the Korean peninsula.
He noted that the unification bonanza of President Park seeks not only to light North Korea, which sinks at sea at night, but also to bring the jackpot to the whole Asia and the world.
"The existence of North Korea in darkness and underdevelopment means that there's a land of opportunity to reconstruct everything from scratch, and that it is actually an opportunity and a blessing. I believe a decisive chance at national unification could be seized during President Park's term, or its foundation could be built," he added.
After the Nagoya lecture was over, Gwon Song-hui (female, 59, Nagoya) stressed that the Korean peninsula, cut from the continent by North Korea, should be unified to connect with the continent. North Korea in fact used to supply electric power to South Korea before; North Korea returning to the Old Stone Age at night shocked Korean residents in Japan, however.
