The Daegu Provincial Assembly (vice-chairperson: Park Gyu-ha) held a lecture titled Let's Open the Era of Unification Bonanza last March 14 at Hotel Inter-burgo in Daegu by inviting Hyun Kyung-dae, Executive Vice-chairperson of NUAC. A total of 500 council members and Daegu citizens attended.

• According to Hyun, national unification can be achieved only when all Koreans combine their will toward it with passion and confidence. Today, South Korea is the world's 12th largest economic power and 8th biggest international trading country, standing on the ruins of war and under the situation of insufficient natural resources. The Era of Unification Bonanza will come to us earlier than expected if we promote unification with such confidence, he says.
  The combination of technology and capital of the South and the natural resources and labor force of the North will grow the economy of a unified Korea dramatically, he said, quoting the reports of some world investment agencies and state research institutes. Hyun added that the continuous expenses of national division, namely military expenditure, would be reduced from the current 3% of GDP to 1%, and that many youngsters could exercise their talents freely instead of fulfilling their compulsory duty of military service.
  Meanwhile, Hyun, Executive Vice-chairperson of NUAC, invited the press to collect opinions on national unification in the Daegu area and roles and function of NUAC in preparation for unification and diffuse the Bonanza of Unification.
