Secretary General Park Chan-bong greets employees of the secretariat at the kick-off meeting for 2014
"National unification does not come to us under vague expectation but can be made possible by inducing the North to change"
The kick-off meeting of the NUAC secretariat for 2104 was held at 10:00 am on Jan. 2 at the conference room of the secretariat office. ″I wish all the NUAC families can run energetically like the blue horse this year,″ Secretary General Park Chan-bong said in his New Year greetings. He asked the employees to be more devoted to promoting the ″Korean Peninsula Trust-Building Process″ of the Park Geun-hye administration and ″Building the Grounds for Peaceful Unification.″
According to him, the people had vague expectation that North Korea could be changed by exchanges between South and North. We should convince them ceaselessly that the North should change for their own benefit, and that we should prepare ourselves for it, he said.
In particular, he mentioned the possibility of system change of the North due to the instability of the Kim Jung-eun regime. "We need to discuss the unification method in detail and preconditions in advance. In that regard, all the employees of the NUAC secretariat should support NUAC to the fullest extent so that the members will be able to fulfill their duties," he added.
Meanwhile, employees of the secretariat encouraged one another and exchanged words of blessings for the new year, pledging a powerful start this 2014 toward peaceful unification and singing the national anthem loudly.
