The San Francisco Chapter (head: Chung Seung-duk) of the US and the Hapcheon Municipal Chapter (head: Lee Jeom-yong) of Gyeongsangnam-do had a sisterhood agreement ceremony at the KOTRA trade center in Silicon Valley on March 17, with around 130 people in attendance including council members and heads of the San Francisco Chapter and the Hapcheon Municipal Chapter.

Through this sisterhood agreement ceremony, the San Francisco Chapter and the Hapcheon Municipal Chapter of Gyeongsangnam-do agreed to work to strengthen the community spirit, activate unification movements, and spread consensus on unification through cooperation and exchange.

At the “San Francisco Chapter Unification Academy” hosted alongside the agreement ceremony, Marn J. Cha, professor emeritus of CSU Fresno, lectured on the “Immigration History of Korean Americans and Prospects of Unification.”
