The Dong-gu Municipal Chapter (head: Nam Jin-geun) of Daejeon held the event for experiencing traditional culture on February 11 at Cheongeul Traditional Culture Center in Jeonju Hanok Village with the attendance of 42 people including North Korean defectors and council members.

The North Korean defectors who participated in the event learned about various courtesies, such as the proper way of greeting and bowing, and spent time making and sharing Jeonju-style bibimbap.

They also experienced the essence and taste of Korean people by trying hanbok (traditional Korean costumes) and traditional snacks and toured Jeonju Hanok Village while listening to the explanations by a cultural interpreter. “I felt good learning about the courtesy between parents and children as well as that between husband and wife,” said a North Korean defector who participated in the event, expressing gratitude to NUAC for preparing the event.
