The Gangdong-gu Municipal Chapter (head: Lee Jong-chun) of Seoul held the 6th Kite-flying competition at Gwangnaru Hangang Park on February 11 in hopes of unification with the attendance of around 1000 people, including North Korean defectors, NUAC council members, and local residents as well as Lee Hae-sik, mayor of Gangdong-gu Office.

Despite the cold weather characterized by sensory temperature of around -10℃, this event, which was held for the 15th day of the Lunar New Year, was attended by many people who reenacted the old tradition of making wishes while flying their kites above the sky to wish for the peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula and the well-being of the local residents.
