The Busan Assembly (Vice-chairperson: Lee Yeong-suk) organized the "Musical Concert with Citizens Wishing for Peaceful Unification" last March 4 at Main Theater of Busan Cultural Center, where 1,400 Busan citizens and council members wishing for world peace and unification of the Korean peninsula attended. The performance was made successful by Maestro Conductor Oh Choong-keun and Tenor Shin Dong-won, Soprano Kim Hyun-ae, and Suyeong-gu Ladies’ Chorus and Boys and Girls Choir of Suyeong-gu. The concert was accompanied by a photo exhibit comparing the national development of South and North Korea.

 

Meanwhile, the Busan Assembly held a joint wedding ceremony for 7 North Korean refugee couples last March 27 at Busan Comodore Hotel, with 230 refugees and council members in attendance. The ceremony was officiated by Lee Geum-hyeong, Busan Police Commissioner; the wedding cost and gifts were subsidized by the council members of the Busan Assembly and Busan Metropolitan Police Agency.
