• Hyun, Executive Vice-chairperson of the Council, invited consul generals who were attending the conference of overseas consul generals to express appreciation for their assistance in launching the overseas municipal chapters of the 16th National Unification Advisory Council successfully and ask for their continuous support.
  A total of 50 consul generals attended the meeting of the Council, including Koo Sang-chan for Shanghai and Shin Yeon-seong for LA, together with Ambassador Lee Jeong-kwan who is in charge of overseas compatriots and Ahn Yeong-jib, Director of the consulate for overseas compatriots of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From the Council side, Park Chan-bong, Secretary General, and Shin Eun-sook, Director of Unification Policy Advisory Bureau, attended the meeting with Hyun, Executive Vice-chairperson.

• "The role of the overseas members of the 16th National Unification Advisory Council has become more important since Park Geun-hye Administration included building the foundation of peaceful unification in the four keynotes of government administration,” said Hyun, Executive Vice-chairperson of the Council, in the meeting. He asked the consul generals to provide support continuously to the overseas members of the Council to promote the unification movement successfully.
  He also appealed to the consul generals to spread our will for peaceful unification to the local societies for the Korean Peninsula Trust-Building Process to be promoted successfully.

Park Chan-bong, Secretary General of the Council, expressed gratitude to the consul generals who act as proxy of the National Unification Advisory Council and asked that they extend their positive support to the members of the 16th National Unification Advisory Council.

Shin Eun-sook, Director of Unification Policy Advisory Bureau, explained the current issues of the Council for the consul generals’ better understanding.
