The Youth Committee (chief: Jeon Je-won) of the Gangwon Provincial Assembly (vice-chairperson: Park Yong-seong) hosted the “Unification Story of North Korean Defectors as Seen by Youth Committee Members and University Students” at the Kensington Flora Hotel in Pyeongchang for two days from December 2 with the participation of around 80 people, including youth committee members, members of the unification club, and families and friends of mentees and mentors.

This event was planned to strengthen mutual communication and ties through stories of unification by youth committee members, university students, and North Korean defectors as well as to maintain mentee-mentor relationships stably.

This event included presentation of activity results by mentors and mentees from each region, lectures on the situation of the Korean Peninsula, and various programs wherein mentors and mentees participated together.

In addition, there was time for mutual sympathy wherein North Korean defectors presented their various experiences in settling in society.
