The Bangladesh Branch (head: Yoon Hee) of the Southwest Asia Chapter held the 2016 Youth Unification Golden Bell competition on April 2 at Dhaka Korean School. The Golden Bell competition was conducted in three divisions ‒ elementary low, elementary high, and middle school divisions ‒ with questions about the history and culture of Korea and its developmental progress and status in the international society, the separation and unification of the Korean peninsula, and the current circumstances of North Korea.

A total of 200 participants, including Ahn Seong-doo, Korean ambassador to Bangladesh, Kim Hang-jin, vice-president of the Southwest Asia Chapter, council members Park Young-gi, Han Hong, and Song Hyun-ui, secretary Lee Jung-hoon, and students, teachers, and parents of Dhaka Korean School participated in the event, with 9 final awardees selected.
