The Daejeon Provincial Assembly (Vice-chairperson: Kang Young-ja) held a special lecture last Sept. 15 in Daejeon to support the successful settlement of North Korean refugees in South Korea, with North Korean refugees and NUAC women members in attendance.

The event was organized by the Women’s Standing Committee (Chief of the committee: Kim Sook-hyun), with the Assembly executing an agreement with the Business Support Center for Women for cooperation in undertaking training and education for North Korean refugees in starting their businesses and to support their startup.

The two organizations decided to provide North Korean refugees with an opportunity and a social environment to broaden their understanding of the culture of South Korea and their sociality in South Korea through the start-up education program.  Park Mee-hwa, secretary general of the Patriotism Academy, gave a lecture titled “Our Attitudes in Supporting North Korean Refugees for Their Successful Settlement.“
