Торонто, 2015-01-31

The Toronto Municipal Chapter (head: Cho Jin hak) of Canada organized a special lecture and a talk show at the Garden Korean Church in Toronto on Jan. 31 to enact the human rights law in North Korea.

Titled “The Way to National Unification, Human Rights in North Korea,” the lecture was arranged jointly with the North Korean Human Rights Association (president: Lee Kyeong-bok). Jang Jin-seong, a writer who escaped from North Korea, introduced the real situation on religion in North Korea and political prisoners’ camps. “P,” a female college student and another North Korean refugee, disclosed the real situation on human rights in North Korea.

Attendants and NUAC members in Canada expressed their strong wish to enact the human rights law in North Korea, holding signs of “Yes! HRNK (Human Rights in North Korea) Act of Canada.”

A total of 900 people including Peter Van Loan, floor leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, Bernard Trottier and Joe Daniel, Federal Congressmen of Canada, Kang Jeong-Sik, Korean Consul General to Toronto, NUAC members, and Korean community leaders attended the lecture, showing deep concern over human rights in North Korea.
