The Gwacheon Municipal Chapter (head: Lee Soon-hyung) of Gyeonggi-do conducted the last lecture for the fifth week of the 3rd Youth Unification Leader Academy at Gwacheon Social Services Center on February 14. In the lecture, Kim Jung-bong, chair professor of Hanzhong University, and Shin Chang-min, honorary professor of Chung-Ang University gave lectures on the topic “The reality of infrastructure in North Korea and method of cooperation between South Korea and North Korea” and “Youth, let’s achieve the dream of unification,” respectively.
The 3rd Youth Unification Leadership Academy, which was held to foster future leaders who will lead the time of unification by improving the interest and understanding of the youth and college students with regard to issues of unification and North Korea, had been held every Tuesday since its first lecture on January 17. Its last lecture was held on February 14.
The Academy’s lectures, which were attended by 47 people including 42 college students and 5 general citizens, were given by the following: Lee Soon-hyung, head of the Gwacheon Municipal Chapter, and Je Sung-ho, professor of Jung-Ang University (Week 1); Lee Chang-yol, standing leader of the Office of Inter-Korean Dialogue at the Ministry of Unification, and Professor Chun Sang-kwon of Ajou University (Week 2); Professor Choi Sung of Yanbian University of Science & Technology and Professor Jo Dong-ho of Ewha Womans University (Week 3), and; Lee Chul-hui, former general of the Korean Army, and Professor Kim Hee-sook of Dongnam Health College (Week 4).
The 3rd Academy held lectures on topics such as the nuclear issue of North Korea and the security issue in the Korean Peninsula, the circumstances in surrounding countries and changes in the unification environment in the Korean Peninsula, the Kim Jong-un regime and circumstances in North Korea, and the preparation for unification and vision of the unified Korean Peninsula.
