The Yangsan Municipal Chapter (head: Jeon Jae-geun) of Gyeongsangnam-do held the “Planting unification apple trees with North Korean defectors” event on November 12 at Seolli Village in Wondong-myeon, with around 60 council members and North Korean defectors in attendance.

The participants, who planted the 30 apple trees received from the apple-growing group of Seolli Village, plan to manage the apple trees during ordinary times. The NUAC Yangsan Municipal Chapter of Gyeongsangnam-do and North Korean defectors plan to grow the trees during spare time such as weekends. According to the  Yangsan Municipal Chapter, while this is the third session this year, it is highly popular with around 30 applicants. The next session, which will be around June of next year, will try to include more North Korean defectors, they added.
