The Nam-gu Municipal Chapter (head: Shin Byung-hee) of Incheon held the “2016 Steppingstone Mentoring Vacation Camp” with 50 participants including Incheon Provincial Assembly Vice-chairperson Heo Hoe-suk, Women's Committee Chief Min Myung-sook, Youth Committee Goh Soo-il, general public, mentor team, and mentees from defecting North Korean families on August 12 at Incheon YWCA.

Two defecting North Korean youths talked about their lives in North Korea and adolescent times in South Korea at the Talk Concert held in the vacation camp hosted by “Uni Star” representative Park Hyun-woo. The vacation camp gave warm advice for the youths from defecting North Korean families. The mentors and mentees also had time to get to know each other by making daily necessities in the camp.

Prior to the camp, all participants watched the movie Battle of Inchon and spent time feeling the pain of the war.

The Nam-gu Municipal Chapter of Incheon has set up a mentor/mentee relationship with a 6:1 proportion between a mentor team consisting of its council members, the general public, and some university students and defecting North Korean families to carry out a variety of activities including volunteering.
