The New Zealand Chapter (head: Do Eon-tae) held two unification lecture conferences on May 10 and 11 at the New Zealand Parliament in Wellington and Victory Convention Centre in Auckland by inviting Lee Hyun-seo, a North Korean refugee.

In the lecture conference participated in by around 500 people including members of the local mainstream society and local residents, Lee Hyun-seo talked about the pains she experienced during her life in North Korea and the process of escaping it. "I gained the freedom I currently enjoy after paying a very high price," she said. She asked the participants to work together so that her compatriots in North Korea “can find their freedom."

Lee Hyun-seo gave her lecture in fluent English, with Korean subtitles provided.
