The Incheon Provincial Assembly (Vice-chairperson: Heo Hoe-suk) held the "17th 2nd Incheon Region Unification Leaders Workshop" on March 11 and 12 at Resom Forest in Jecheon, Chungcheongbuk-do, with about 40 attendees including the Incheon Provincial Assembly, Secretaries of 10 Municipal Chapters, Youth Chairmen, Committee Chairwomen, and Chiefs of Administration.
The main focus of the workshop was enhancing the unification capability of Executive Advisory Council members and gathering ideas on methods to vitalize reunification activities and businesses. The workshop progressed in the order of unification leader history lecture, communication and harmony session, and divided discussion followed by presentation of discussion results.
During the divided discussion time, methods to build "2016 Unification LIVE," a reunification activities promotion network in the Incheon region (Secretaries), and carry out the plan and details (Committee Chairwomen) of the "Unification Calligraphy Contest" (Youth Chairmen) and "National unification council’s operations activation plan in the eyes of the Chief of Administration" (Chiefs of Administration) were brought up as topics of discussion.
Moreover, the Incheon Provincial Assembly held the "Incheon region youth unification round-table talk" on March 14 at the YWCA auditorium, with 50 participants composed of Incheon region youth consultants and members of youth groups who gathered to resolve the South-South conflict, achieve harmony among citizens, and consolidate public opinions. The Assembly also held the Incheon Peaceful Reunification Forum on the topic of “North Korea’s provocation crisis and Korea-China relations” on March 8, 3:00pm at YWCA auditorium.
About 120 people including members of the forum, council members, and local residents attended the forum. Park Seung-jun, a professor of Chinese language and literature at Incheon University, kicked off the forum by giving a presentation on the theme of the forum. Lee Jun-han, professor at Incheon University, Song Gwang-suk PhD, and Kim Taik-hwan, former Kyonggi University professor, served as the designated debaters and presented their opinions.
