The Southern South East Asia Municipal Chapter (head: Jun Min-sik) of the Indonesia branch of NUAC held a workshop on Sept. 12 and 13 in Surabaya, capital of Java State of Indonesia.
A total of 23 members of the Indonesia Headquarters of NUAC, Jo Tae-young, South Korean Ambassador to Indonesia, Shin Kee-yup, chairman of the Korean Community of Indonesia, and Seung Eun-ho, deputy chairman of the ASEAN Assembly, attended the event for a lecture on national unification as well as group discussion. They also visited an orphanage in the area.
Ambassador Cho gave a special lecture on the Park Geun-hye government policy toward North Korea, recent inter-Korean relations, and political situation surrounding the Korean Peninsula. NUAC members discussed the “Unification of the Korean Peninsula and Roles of Overseas Koreans.”
Meanwhile, NUAC members attending the workshop visited Rumah Korea Orphanage operated by the Korean Christian Church in Surabaya. After the workshop, NUAC member Kim Soo-yong donated 20 million Rupia. Opinions were also exchanged on how to form a favorable public opinion of South Korea in the country where they reside.
