The Northern Europe Municipal Chapter (Head : Seo Seong-bin) held on March 30, 2013 a unification-related lecture session at the Renaissance Hotel in Dusseldorf, Germany, with Rep. Jo Myeong-cheol of the Saenuri Party invited as lecturer and more than 150 people attending including Consul General Kim Hi-taek, local Korean representatives, and NUAC members.
Speaking on the “Unification that will be Won in a Hopeful New Era,” Mr. Jo Myeong-cheol explained the “Korean Peninsula Trust-Building Process” presented by the Park Geon-hye administration, stressing that the country’s unification should be something that everyone should feel happy about, and that small-scale unification should precede the large-scale one. “North Korean refugees can be said to be missionaries of unification. Their stable settlement in the South is a process of accomplishing small unification,” he said. After the lecture, attendees adopted a three-item resolution asking for the stoppage of the North’s provocative threats and bolstering NUAC members’ commitment. The resolution was read by Head Jeong Jong-gu of the Central German Branch of the Northern Europe Municipal Chapter.
