Hawaii Chapter - Year-end Visit to Korean Nursing Home, Practice of Warmhearted Sharing
Hawaii Chapter, 2016-12-13

The Hawaii Chapter (head: Kim Dong-gyun) visited the Korean nursing home in Liliha, Honolulu, on December 13 in order to deliver the donation collected at the “NUAC People’s Night” event and console the elderly living in the nursing home.

This nursing home was founded by Rhee Syngman, the first President of the Republic of Korea, for the numerous emigrant ancestors spending their remaining days following retirement after coming to Hawaii in the early days of immigration and working their entire lives at sugar cane farms without even marrying. It is a meaningful place in the history of immigration to Hawaii.
