The Daegu Provincial Assembly (Vice-chairperson: Park Gyu-ha) volunteered at the Hwasung Care Center on October 13 with the "Deobulhyang Volunteer Group" consisting of North Korean defectors and council members of the Suseong-gu Municipal Chapter of Daegu.

The council members and North Korean defectors who volunteered had a meaningful time sharing a culture of warmth by engaging in entertaining recreations and cleaning the nursing home for senior citizens with bodily difficulties.

"This volunteer activity was significant since we, who are used to receiving only, were able to give back, and it was a meaningful time since we felt as if we were spending time with our own parents,” said one North Korean defector who participated in this volunteer service.
