The Orange San Diego Chapter (head: Gwon Suk-dae) arranged a visit to Korea for Korean teenagers residing in the US from June 27 to July 3 at the Marine Corps Training Camp and De-Militarized Zone (DMZ), where they engaged in next-generation security experience activities in order to fuel determination and strengthen the capacity for unification.

During the trip that spanned over seven days and six nights, 12 teenagers from San Diego and California were accompanied by teachers and parents, making a group of 17. Seol Jung-hyeok, branch head of the Orange San Diego Chapter, and Council Member Cha Eun-kyeong joined the trip as supervisors.

The next-generation teenagers learned about and experienced the reality of Korea’s national security in the Marine Corps Training Camp and DMZ and later participated in a temple stay at Woljeongsa Temple. After the trip, the teenagers said that the visit to their homeland helped them rethink and rediscover their identity as Koreans and provided them with a fresh perspective in looking at the reality of division on the Korean peninsula.
