The Egypt Branch (chief: Cho Gyeong-haeng) of the Middle East Chapter held on April 9 the "2016 Egypt Cairo Unification Golden Bell" at the grand assembly hall of Korean School located in Cairo, the capital city of Egypt. Participants of the Golden Bell competition included not only overseas Korean youth but also around 30 local female students such as students of Ain Shams University, a prestigious school in Egypt.
Last April 5, it held the “Unification Tree Planting” for Arbor Day in Korea at Mena House Hotel in front of the Great Pyramid in Giza on the outskirts of Cairo for the purpose of solidifying the willingness of overseas residents in Egypt with regard to unification. During the tree planting event administered by the Embassy of the Korean Republic in Egypt, a large palm tree was planted, with around 30 participants including Chung Kwang-kyun, Korean ambassador to Egypt, council members, and leaders of the Korean community.
