The Women's Committee of the Gangwon Provincial Assembly (chief: Kim Suk-yeong) conducted on April 15 the 1st-3rd week lectures for the “Women's Unification Leader Academy” at the Gangwon Provincial Office conference hall with around 100 female council members from 18 city and county chapters in Gangwon-do.

During the academy, which was conducted with 3 themes, Kim Gyu-nam, secretary of the Executive Committee, gave a special lecture titled “Understanding the North Korean Society and Preparing for Unification.” Kim Tae-hyun, female vice-chairperson, gave the second lecture titled “Female Leadership for Preparing for a Unified Future.” In the last lecture, themed “Tasks of the Local Community for Preparing for Unification,” Kim Yong-hyun, professor of Dongguk University, explained the roles of female leaders.

The 4th-6th week education, which aimed at strengthening the capabilities of female council members in Gangwon-with regard to unification and performing the role of creating the basis of unification for the local community as unification leaders, was conducted on April 27 at Wonpyeong Farm Stay in Chuncheon.
