The Namhae Municipal Chapter in Gyeongsangnam-do (Gyeongnam) (Head: Choi Hong-baek) held the "2015 Unification Forum for College Students" in conjunction with the launching ceremony of the Unification Club for College Students on March 25 at Gyeongnam Provincial Namhae College. The forum was organized to build stronger sense of consensus on unification among college students, whereas the launching ceremony was aimed at stimulating discussions on unification among college students and raising their awareness of unification. The ceremony took place prior to the opening of the forum.
Professor Lee Gi-wan of Changwon National University, led the forum by making a keynote presentation; this was followed by presentations of 11 students of Gyeongnam Provincial Namhae College.
Presenters of the forum included Kang Chae-rim, who shared her thoughts on "creating a substantial base for unification and on the role of the future generation in the era of unification," Kim Ji-hi, on "promoting a sense of consensus on unification and unification education," Byeon Seong-yong, on "building a sense of consensus on unification and raising awareness of unification among the youth," Shim Moon-hyeock, on "the role of the future generation in realizing the dream of unification that the old generation has been working on," Jeong Seon-gyeong, on "my thoughts on the Dresden Declaration," and Shin Yu-hyeon, on "human rights in North Korea as a first step toward unification.”
In addition, Lee Jeong-hoon shared his thoughts on "the need for an analysis of the cost and benefits of unification," Jin Yeon-woo, on "respect for free will with focus on the case of Man-cheol Kim's family," Park Seung-un, on "creating a blueprint for unification,” Park Da-bin, on "the need to resolve issues of separated families,” and Park Mi-seon, on "the pressing tasks for peaceful unification.”
