The Boston Municipal Chapter (head: Kim Seong-hyeok) of America held a New Year’s greeting ceremony on Jan. 3 at China Inn on Long Island.
Eom Seong-jun, Korean Consul General to Boston, and NUAC members and leaders of Korean communities in the area attended the ceremony, wherein Hwang U-seong, secretary of the branch office, reported the main activities planned for 2015 including supporting the tuberculosis elimination program of North Korea and holding a seminar on the human rights issue in North Korea, a music festival to commemorate the 70th anniversary of liberation of Korea, a quiz contest about national unification, a unification leadership forum for the next generation, and the Harvard Peaceful Unification Forum.
Consul General Eom gave a lecture on the Korean Peninsula Trust-Building Process, direction of promoting the inter-Korean policy, North Korean nuclear issue, human rights in North Korea, environments for unification, and prospects of future South-North Korean relationships and dialogue.
