Yeonggwang Municipal Chapter (Head Kwon Jae-guk) of Jeollanam-do held an awards ceremony for the 7th annual Essay Writing Contest on Hopes for Unification last Nov. 24th at the county office. The award winners included 34 students and two teachers who received certificates.

The contest was held from June 1 until July 20 to raise awareness of national unification. There were 186 students, including 118 elementary schoolchildren, 34 middle school students and 34 high school students who participated in the essay-writing contest. The essays were evaluated by Jung Hyeong-taek, director of Yeonggwang Cultural Center and Park Dong-pil, poet and chairman of the Culture and Arts Committee of the municipal chapter.
