The youth committee of Jeju Provincial Assembly (Chief: Kim Sun-taek) held the "First National Unification Lecture for College Students" last Nov. 8 at Jeju National University for the members of the NUAC Jeju College Students Club as well as non-members of the university.
The lectures during the first session were given by Professor Kang Geun-hyung of Jeju National University under the theme "How Shall We Review Our Modern History - Division and Unification" and Professor Jang Won-seok with the subject "21st-Century Nuclear Crisis and North Korean Nuclear Weapons." Professor Ko Seong-jun talked about "Unification of Korean Peninsula and Island of World Peace, Jeju" during the third session. The “Second National Unification Lecture for College Students” was organized last Nov. 15 in the seminar room at Jeju National University to enhance college students' understanding of the current issue related to unification and attract more attention.
During the second session, Professor Ko Kyung-min of Jeju National University gave a lecture titled "Beyond the Dispute of National Unification -- Conveniences and Future of National Unification." Hong Jae-hyung, former director of the Unification Education Center of the Ministry of Unification, talked about the "Inter-Korean Policy and Relation of the Park Geun-hye Administration." For the third session, too, the attendees had a dialogue with some North Korean refugees.
