The Pohang-si (Gyeongbuk-do) Municipal Chapter (Head : Kim Gong-ga) held on June 2, 2013 the 13th annual beach marathon wishing for unification at Songdo Beach, Pohang, with about 12,000 people attending.
The race consists of six courses, including the full course between Songdo Beach and the estuary of Hyeongsangang River, a half course, a 10km course for college students, a 5km course for adults, etc.
The municipal chapter asked local residents to submit four-line verses on national unification and presented awards to the winners on June 9. It also unveiled an exhibit of photos introducing its unification-related activities.
