The Goheung-gun Municipal Chapter (head: Kim Jeong-seol) of Jeollanam-do held the Teenagers’ Camp for Unification Sympathy at the Camp Greaves Youth Hostel for two days and one night last July 14 and 15.

The camp, joined by 45 students from 3 high schools in Goheung-gun, held experiential education sessions to enhance understanding of unification and promote awareness of national security among the young participants, who will become the next-generation leaders of a unified Korea. Various other programs were separately held to help participants share their thoughts and vision regarding unification.

The camp served as a valuable opportunity for students to understand Korea’s painful history and to contemplate unification seriously through wide-ranging programs. Participating students visited the civilian control zone and saw and felt the reality of inter-Korean division up close, had a tour of the De-Militarized Zone (DMZ), played a game of strategic domino and participated in a DMZ Golden Bell Quiz Contest, and pinned ribbons symbolizing and wishing for peace on the Korean peninsula.
