Toronto Municipal Chapter (Head Choi Jin-hak) of Canada held a lecture contest called, “A Phenomenal Lecture” on Nov. 25, where 250 people attended including Korean Consul General to Toronto Kang Jeong-sik, NUAC members, college students and Korean residents in the region.
The contest was held to heighten sympathy for a peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula among the local communities with the help of Prof. Charles Button of Brock University in Canada, a China and North Korea specialist who gave his special lecture called, “Peaceful Unification of the Korean Peninsula Viewed by a Canadian.”
Kim Yun-dong, president of the Korean student council of Toronto University was selected to be the best unification lecturer, who made an address entitled, “Unification of the Korean Peninsula Viewed by the Next Generation.” The Award of Unification was given to NUAC member Song Seon-ho and the Award of Peace was handed to Yim Seong-ok, member of the Senior Citizens Club.
