Action plans discussed to spread sympathy for unification among the younger generation
The National Joint Session for Chiefs of the Youth Committees and Representatives of the Unification Clubs was held on February 3 at the NUAC Secretariat in order to discuss the action plans for the NUAC’s youth program, with chiefs of the Youth Committees from 17 cities and provinces and 32 members from unification clubs in attendance.

Executive Vice-chairperson Yoo Ho-yeol emphasized, “I hope that this year’s activities of the youth council members will help focus the attention of our nation’s youth’s on unification, and develop dynamic and creative activities.”

Message from the Secretary General Bae Jung-ho
Secretary General Bae Jung-ho started his greetings by chanting the phrase, “Reply, the youth.” He suggested, “We need to lead the advancement and unification of the Korean Peninsula in order for Korea to earn respect on the international stage,” emphasizing, “I urge you to cultivate a sense of ownership in order to make history.”
Activity reports presented '2016 Youth Committee Member Support Plans and Major Activities.'
Major plans in 2016 include △ driving pioneering activities of youth to prepare for unification, △ invigorating the joint campaign for the Youth Committee members and university students, and △ enhancing the capabilities of the Youth Committee members based on mutual relationships with major regional-functional youth groups.
The Council plans to implement major activities, including △ the Policy Conference for Chiefs of the National Youth Standing Committees, △ the Youth Culture Festival for Unification Preparation, △ a college discussion program and support for unification clubs in universities, and △ regional activities aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the Youth Committee members, as well as distributing and executing detailed plans.
During a free discussion involving all the participants in the session, best practices were shared and discussed, including △ practical alternatives, such as incentives and fun factors, to encourage the participation of college students; △ decisive actions to accept new ways suitable for young people ; △ self-promotion of participants using SNS; and △ effective cooperation with universities regarding support for unification clubs, etc.
Meanwhile, the Policy Conference for Chiefs of the National Youth Standing Committees will be held on February 16-17 at the Hotel Riviera Yuseong to discuss detailed action plans for youth programs in 2016.
