"NUAC will take the initiative in supporting North Korean refugees for their independent settlement by forging sisterhood relations with their youngsters and infants and children for them to grow healthy and bright and to enjoy the dream of national unification," Hyun said at the center.
Members of the Executive Committee, which is the supreme body for deliberation and resolution of NUAC for the Council's management, donated toys for the children staying at Hanawon, couch, and library cabinet to the refugees at the center.
NUAC gives recommendation and advice on the national unification policy of the government and performs activities to establish the foundation for the peaceful unification of the Korean peninsula. In 2014 in particular, NUAC's 229 municipal chapters across the country plan to implement support activities for the North Korean refugees for their independent settlement in South Korea, including support for their job hunting, legal affairs, medical care, and mentoring.
