The Japan Kinki Council (chairperson: Kwon Oh-il) hosted a unification talk concert and the essay competition award ceremony at the Baekdu Hagwon assembly hall on December 3 with the participation of around 200 people, including Jo Jae-cheol, Deputy Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Osaka, Park Do-byeong, Head of the Association Osaka Regional Headquarters, council members, and students of Baekdu Hagwon.

The event started with a gayageum (twelve-stringed zither) performance by Park Sun-a, followed by a unification talk concert on the topic “The Unification that I Imagine.” At the essay competition award ceremony that followed, student Lee Ga-young (2nd grader of Baekdu Hagwon) won the grand prize with the topic “Becoming One.”

This unification essay competition was held for compatriot middle and high school students in Japan, and a total of 360 essays were entered.
