The San Francisco Municipal Chapter (head: Chung Seung-duk) of the US held a workshop from April 16 to April 17 at the Asilomar Conference Grounds in Monterey, California for the purpose of promoting the capabilities of council members in unification and solidifying the commitments to unification activities through communication and harmony.
In the workshop, Kim Yi-soo, who served as head of the chapter at the 14th and 15th councils, gave a lecture on the “Virtues for Council Members.” This was followed by a lecture titled “Why does North Korea have no hope?” by former ambassador to Finland Choi Sang-jin, who explained the situation in North Korea as viewed through North Korean diplomats. On the other hand, Gwon Oh-jeong, professor of California State University (CSU) Fresno, gave a special lecture themed “Recognition and Preparation on Cyber-terror by North Korea,” explaining the cyber capacity of North Korea, which educates children on cyber education, and our attitudes in response to such behavior. Later, the participant council members had debate sessions by subject in 5 groups.
